Slide notes: Once a Fixed Asset Register is operational, then the monthly Depreciation is calculated automatically and with ease. From the Depreciation section on the Asset menu, we choose "Automatic".

Slide notes: A Caution step always comes up first, and it is a reminder check that the Meter Readings for Assets should already be up to date. If there are no Assets that Depreciate on Meter Movement, then of course it does not matter. But if there are, then we must be sure that the Meter Readings have already been processed, because once the Automatic Depreciation has been performed for the Period, then further corrections to the Meters for those Assets will have no effect on the Depreciation for the selected Period.

Slide notes: In this case, we will be processing Depreciation for the February Period, even though it is already March. That does not matter, since Depreciation can be processed early or late, and we will change the Transaction Date to the end of February.
